We have been preparing for distance/online learning for the 2020-21 school year since we went on lockdown Friday, March 13, 2020. We’ve learned a lot since that day, and have been learning quite a bit more organizationally and locally ever since. This doesn’t, however, mean that we have a date in mind for distance learning. Again, rumors might suggest otherwise, but that is not the case. It would be irresponsible to wait until a crisis occurs and then prepare for the unfortunate event. Like the fire drill we practiced last week, there is no set date we are planning to have an actual fire. We are simply getting prepared just in case. And so we are preparing for another lockdown in case something should happen that would require us to close campus. Better safe than sorry, right? Last week’s newsletter suggested this (the article about Office 365), and teachers will continue to prepare your children and you for distance learning, simply because we don’t know what the future holds. I, of course, am hopeful that we will weather this storm and stay on campus through June.
